This statement applies to the public website at amydebuskhomeloans.com, published for Amy DeBusk Home Loans. Amy DeBusk is Branch Manager, NMLS 281056, with loanDepot.com, LLC NMLS 174457, licensed in California, Tennessee, and Texas. The office is 2999 Douglas Blvd, Ste 180 Rm. 111, Roseville, CA 95661. Accessibility of a mortgage application on loanDepot, or of a Calendly booking widget, is controlled in large part by those products. We still want you to be able to reach a human if a widget fails you.
The standard we work toward
We design and build this site to work toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. "Work toward" is honest language. A static educational site can meet a great deal of that bar: headings in order, labels on form controls, visible focus, color that is not the only signal, text that can enlarge, and pages that do not trap a keyboard. We do not claim a certified audit on every release, and we do not print a badge that implies a lawyer or a scanner signed the homepage.
WCAG is a shared language for whether a page can be perceived, operated, understood, and remain robust as technology changes. We use it as the floor for new pages on this site. When we find a failure, we fix the template or the content, not the person who reported it.
Keyboard, focus, and structure
Primary navigation can be opened with a control that reports expanded state. Dropdowns are buttons, not hover-only secrets. Skip to content is the first focusable link. Interactive calculator tabs are buttons with selected state. Range sliders that sync to number fields have accessible names. FAQ items use native details and summary so a keyboard user can open them without a custom script maze.
If you tab through a page and land in a hole, that is a bug. Tell us the URL, the browser, and roughly where you were. "The third tab on the calculator never focuses the results" is more useful than "the site is broken," but we will take either.
We aim for a logical heading outline: one H1, then H2 sections that match the questions a borrower actually has. Decorative images either have empty alt when they are already named in nearby text, or real alt when they carry meaning, such as the open-door home photograph on the homepage.
Contrast, motion, and zoom
The visual system uses dark sage, clay, and cream chosen so body text on paper and light text on the deep sage hero can meet contrast expectations when implemented as designed. If a future overlay, stock photo, or third-party embed drops contrast, that is a defect. Zoom to 200 percent in a desktop browser should keep text readable without clipping into overflow that cannot scroll. Horizontal panning of a data table on a small screen is a known pattern for compare tables; we would rather you pan a table than guess at cropped numbers.
The site respects reduced motion preferences for smooth scrolling and short transitions. We do not ship autoplaying sound. We do not use blinking marketing banners. Calculator bars animate only as width changes when you type, which is feedback, not decoration.
How to report a barrier
Email adebusk@loandepot.com with the subject line "Website accessibility" if you can. If email is the barrier, call or text (916) 705-2557. You can also use the contact page. Tell us:
- The page address, for example the calculator at /mortgage-calculator-1/ or a program URL.
- What you were trying to do (read, book, apply, run a slider, open a FAQ).
- What happened instead, and any assistive technology you want us to know about (screen reader name, voice control, switch, magnification).
- A way to reach you that you can actually use.
We will acknowledge the report and work the issue. Complex third-party failures may take longer because we do not own Calendly or loanDepot's front end. In the meantime we will offer an equivalent path: a phone consult, an emailed PDF of a page, or a scheduled call that does not depend on the widget.
Third-party widgets we do not fully control
Apply buttons send you to loanDepot. Booking buttons send you to Calendly. Those companies have their own accessibility statements and support channels. A calendar iframe may have focus behavior we cannot restyle from this repo. A loanDepot application may use its own session, documents, and timeouts. If the barrier is inside those products, we will still help you complete the real-world task: talk to Amy DeBusk, receive a link, or start the application another way that loanDepot allows.
Embedded video, maps, or social feeds, if added, inherit the player or platform's accessibility. We prefer linking out over trapping a user in an unlabeled embed.
Education properties such as the quiz, course, blog, Savebot, YouTube, and Reddit are separate sites. We link them because they are part of Mortgage Made Easy. We cannot promise each one meets WCAG on the day you visit. If one of those is the only path you were given, tell us and we will give you the same information another way.
Content choices that affect access
We write in plain English and avoid stuffing a paragraph with unexplained acronyms. When we must use NMLS, FHA, VA, PMI, or MIP, we explain them on the program pages. We do not rely on color alone to mean "good" or "bad" in compare tables. We do not publish rate tables that update faster than a screen reader user can finish the page, because we do not publish rate tables at all.
PDFs, if any are offered later, should have tags and a text alternative. Until then, the HTML page is the accessible original.
Known limits
If an old bookmark drops you somewhere confusing, tell us the address you typed. Complex visualization on the calculator (year bars, payment split) is supplementary. The same numbers appear as text next to the graphic.
This statement is not a guarantee of uninterrupted access, and it is not a waiver of any rights you have under the Americans with Disabilities Act or California law. It is a practical map of how this small public site is built and how to reach a person at Amy DeBusk Home Loans when the map fails.
